Night of the Living Spam-Bots

I've been getting hit with a lot of Spam-Bots in the comments for this blog recently.  Thank goodness I am able to screen them out, but it's becoming a bit of a pain.  Does this mean we're becoming more popular?  I think we'd all agree that we would much rather have real visitors than zombies.

too bad about the spam.

on the bright side, sometimes the comments are interesting and zombies sound like fun (err sort of!).

I promise I am real.

Thanks. It's pretty easy to spot the spam, but it's pretty annoying. My other blog (Videogames of the Damned) is getting hit harder.

It's good to know we have real people here at the Ghibli Blog :P

It's a shame when these things happen. Reminds me of the first time I signed up to a mailing list, and didn't realize the enormous trouble I got myself into because of it. Had to go down to a college IT place to get it straighten out so I could use my e-mail again!

Blogspot doesn't have a tool to prevent spam comments. Why don't you use Wordpress? Askimet is powerful enough to protect bloggers from 'zombies', i think :D

Wordpress isn't a bad idea, actually. I don't know how much work that would be to move things around. At least I can catch the spam-bots before they cause any trouble. It's more of an annoyance than anything.

Great idea, though. I'll think about it.
